When everyone zigs you zag. This video represents more than just getting a new car. (I guess technically it’s an old car being that it’s a 65’ but whatever) To me it’s about using things you actually like, not being bought into the “influencer” flex just because it looks good on Instagram.
If you know me personally you’d know:
- I’m the furthest thing from a “flexer”
- I’ve driven the same car since 16 years old
- Live in an apartment that costs $750/mo
- Live by the quote “grow your income, not your lifestyle”
And I love it! A lot of the traditional markers of "success" aren't really my style. At the end of the day it's about living the life you want, not the one others expect from you. Happiness is all about keeping it real and staying true to what you actually like. I see so many people in this entrepreneur space who buy things they don’t actually like. Weird concept, right? Also, It’s scary how many people in the “entrepreneur” space are faking it. Living just above paycheck to paycheck. Paying more a month than they do in rent to leasing Lambos. Sounds crazy but I see it every day. Look, if you actually like the Lambos, respect. But if you don’t, don’t feel pressured to buy one! If you get down with traveling in Bali, do it! If you'd rather stay at home, awesome! Are we stoked on what we’re doing and who we’re becoming, or just trying to keep up with FOMO? Keep it real and stay true to what you love. Always.
Refusing to Settle,
